How much baggage can I bring when flying with Ryanair?

If you have a Ryanair flight in your upcoming trip, the following baggage rules should be taken into account when departing as of/from/including 1 November 2018:

  • As a Non-priority boarding traveller, you are allowed to carry 1 small handbag (maximum size of 40 x 20 x 25 cm) for free. You can also upgrade your boarding to Priority, with your Ryanair log in details in Your Trips.
  • As a Priority boarding traveller, you are allowed to carry 1 small handbag (maximum size of 40 x 20 x 25 cm) and 1 x 10kg wheelie (maximum size of 55 x 40 x 20 cm) with you in the cabin.
  • If you are travelling with Non-priority boarding, and would like to bring a second bag, you can buy a 10kg (maximum size of 55 x 40 x 20 cm) check-in baggage (which will have to be dropped off at the check-in counter). This can be done via Ryanair website, with your Ryanair log in details in Your Trips.

Please keep in mind that if you book Non-priority boarding and bring a second bag without purchasing beforehand, you will be charged €50 at the airport for each excess bag per flight, and your baggage will be placed in the hold.

Did you book before 1 September 2018?

Ryanair has added 1 piece of check-in baggage (max 10kg) to your booking. Please log in to Ryanair website with your Ryanair log in details in Your Trips to check if this has been added. If not, please contact us.

Total free of charge baggage allowance if booked before 1 September 2018:

  • 1 small handbag (maximum size of 40 x 20 x 25 cm)
  • 1 extra piece of check-in baggage (maximum size of 55 x 40 x 20 cm and max 10kg)
